The Advanced level has three sections including listening, vocabulary and grammar, and reading in the test. The total numbers of question are 120, and all of them are multiple choices, of which each has 4 options in the test. The total testing time is 110 minutes. Please see the following table for detail.

Section 1: Listening Comprehension
Listening comprehension measures the overall comprehension of spoken Chinese. There are 50 items in this section. The testing time is approximately 40 minutes. Examinees to listen a variety of questions including sentences, short conversations, and passages recorded in Chinese, then based on what they hard to choose the correct answer from one of the four options.
Section 2: Vocabulary & Grammar
The vocabulary and grammar section measures the ability of understanding word meaning and language use in context. There are 30 items in this section. Test questions are divided into two parts - vocabulary and grammar.
Section 3: Reading Comprehension
The section of reading comprehension measures examinees’ ability to read materials on different topics from various sources in Chinese. There are 40 items and two different types of reading, single sentence and short passage in this section. Examinees first read the content of the reading, and then answer the questions.
