- Familiarize yourself with Chinese writing styles by practice writing reminders, email, or essays to tell a story, describe personal experiences and feelings. You may also try to express your thoughts regarding an article or news story in the form of written words, so as to improve your writing.
- Use Online Writing Practice Platform provided by the Committee to familiarize with exam process and questions. The Practice allows test takers to have their writing reviewed by raters so as to identify and be mindful of their problems.
- Familiarize yourself with “Notes” posted on the official website so you may spare the reading and allow yourself more time to complete the task on the actual exam.
- Practice frequently Chinese input modes (Phoneticㄅㄆㄇㄈ input or Pinyin) to allow yourself to finish the tasks in time.
- Read the prompt carefully to know the task requirement, word count and time.
- Be sure to use the designated name for tasks that require the use of writer’s name. Do not use your real name in writing.
- Make sure the writings follow the standard Chinese writing format. For example, the first line of each paragraph must be indented two spaces (standard writing) and leave no spaces before the recipient’s name (letter writing), etc.
- Use consistent sentences and appropriate conjunctions to connect sentences.
- Use correct grammar and collocation.
- Make sure you type the characters correctly. (Please refer to Microsoft New Phonetic Input Instuction、Microsoft New Hanyu Pinyin Input Instruction for Chinese input modes)
- Only use the Chinese punctuations listed above the answer space. (,。、:!?「」)

- Does my writing fulfill the task requirement?

- Did I use appropriate conjunctions to connect sentences?
